The 2011-12 season will be upon us soon. I wanted to highlight some important dates and changes to the NHA program.
The NHA Board has made changes in an effort to streamline our program.
o NHA will be moving to an online only registration. The registration period will open August 1st and run through September 10th. Late fees will be applied at $50 per player after 9/10.
o Our Fall Clinic with Frank Burggraf will now be included in registration fees. Dates will be Sept 22nd through 25th at the Northfield Arena.
o Sweethockey online stickhandling program will now be integrated in with the NHA registration and website. This will be 12 month access for all players.
o St. Olaf led dryland program will continue to be held throughout the season at Skoglund Athletic Center. Dryland programs will run Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-7:15 and 7:30-8:30.
o Parent meetings at all levels will be held prior to the season to collect all necessary forms, concession checks and answer questions.
o We will be having all girls mite team this year if the number of girl players makes it conducive to do so.
NHA has worked hard in keeping a reduced program fee but revenues, donations and fundraising are down due to the economic impact felt by everyone and our ice expenses have risen every year the last 5 years.
NHA has also increased the number of volunteer concession hours to 10. The concession stand is an important part of NHA’s revenue and we want to have the stand available for all games and events.
The board believes these changes will allow NHA to continue as a great value and be a sustainable success for players, coaches and families.

1st Year Mite Equipment Rental
Rental equipment is available for first year mites. The rental fee is $25.00. For more information, see the
A $250.00 deposit, in the form of a check, will be collected from each family at the first scheduled team
meeting. The check should be postdated April 15, 2012. Every family is required to work ten (10)
concession stand hours between September 15, 2011and March 31, 2012. If the required hours are
fulfilled, the check will be destroyed or returned after April 15, 2012. If the hours are not fulfilled, the
check will be deposited by NHA after April 15, 2012. For more information, see the handbook, or the

Fundraising
NHA families, except first year families, are required to participate in the calendar fundraiser.
Payment for the calendars is collected during registration. For more information, see the handbook or

There are several documents that must be submitted to NHA before your player can skate. Many of the forms can be found at: http://www.northfieldhockey.net/page/show/105670-registration-forms
Step 1. New to NHA? Families must first create an NGIN account before they will be able to register. If you have an existing account, proceed to Step 2. If not, please click on the following link: http://www.northfieldhockey.net/users/new
Step 2. You must also register with USA/MN Hockey before registering. There is a $40.00 registration fee each player born before 1/1//2006. CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
Step 3. After creating an NGIN account and registering with USA Hockey, return to this registration and proceed. (https://northfieldhockey.secure-ngin.com/register/form/959951901). Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 2. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or PayPal account information available.
Note: If you have unpaid registration fees from 2010-2011---DO NOT register! Your 2011-2012 registration will not be valid until all past due fees are paid in full. Please contact registrar@northfieldhockey.net.
Step 4. In addition to registration, skaters are required to submit the following (all of which can be turned in at the first scheduled team meeting).
Note: Skaters will NOT be allowed on the ice until everything has been collected.
